Who travels on the caravan: passengers, ages and the group
Before booking a place, almost everyone asks the same question, sometimes shyly, sometimes not: "but who else is going?". It is the right question: on a group trip, the company is half the outing. So I will describe our group as it is, without embellishing. And, out of respect for the privacy of those who travel with us, I describe profiles, never passengers' full names.
A good part of the group is over 60
Let me get straight to the point: a good part of the people who travel with Mundo a Passeio are over 60. That is the norm here, and it is deliberate. The pace is calm, the coach is leito (sleeper), the hotels are chosen with breakfast included and the itinerary leaves plenty of time between one commitment and the next. The group trip for people over 60 leaving from Porto Alegre is our speciality, and the article on excursions for older travellers leaving from Porto Alegre explains in detail how this works.
But "a good part" is not "everyone": the caravan is open to all ages, and there are always younger people: children who come along, husbands and wives who join to keep company. Those in their early 50s are not left out; they just need to know that the pace of the trip is set by the older passengers, and that is what makes it so restful.
Couples, groups of friends and solo travellers
The group forms in three ways. There are couples, who travel together in adjacent sleeper seats. There are groups of friends (neighbours, sisters, colleagues from a prayer group) who arrange the trip in the middle of the year and arrive at boarding together. And there are people who travel alone, many of them.
Travelling alone deserves its own paragraph, because it is the number one fear of those who have never done it: "will I be left out?". You won't. Travelling alone is common in our group, and we accompany you from the booking (a single room is an option you select when securing your place) to arrival. At mealtimes, nobody is obliged to eat alone: the team is with you, and there is always another person in the group in the same situation.
Breakfast tables get mixed on the second day
On the first day, everyone is polite and sits with whoever they met at boarding. On the second day, breakfast mixes up the tables, and the trip changes. That is where the friendships are born that will last the 8 days and, often, a lifetime: those who live in the same city arrange to travel back together, those of the same age form the walking group, and those of the same faith form the prayer group.
One detail that families love: we create a WhatsApp group for the trip, so that relatives can follow from home: a photo of the road, news of the arrival, the "we've arrived safely" message. Anyone with an anxious child at home knows what that means.
Returning passengers who bring friends
This is the best sign that the formula works: whoever travels with us once comes back, and brings someone along. On the November 2025 departure to Minas, which we describe in how the Spiritist trip to Minas went in November 2025, there were quite a few people who already knew Mundo a Passeio from other journeys, and who arrived at boarding with a new friend under their arm. Accounts from those who have already travelled are gathered on the testimonials page, and I read them all with affection.
Frequently asked questions
I am travelling alone. How does it work in practice?
You book, select the single room option if you wish, and board. From then on, the team introduces you to the group, seats you at mealtimes and accompanies you throughout the trip. By the second day, you already have company for breakfast: that is the norm, not the exception.
I am under 60. Will I feel left out?
The group is mostly 60+, but the atmosphere is that of a big family, not a closed club. Younger people who like the calm pace and the destinations get on well, and tend to take on the role of the "grandchild of the group" without even noticing.
Where can I read what passengers say?
On the testimonials page: accounts from those who have already travelled with us, in their own words.
How do I secure my place in the group?
With a deposit on booking and the remainder paid in instalments until boarding, via WhatsApp with me. Places on the Novembro 2026: Triângulo Mineiro e Águas de Caldas Novas trip are open now, and it is the group described above that will board with you. The other departures are at all trips.
