An amethyst-lined church, lunch underground and a waterfall whose appearance depends on the river: this is a short trip with several distinct personalities. Enjoying Ametista and Derrubadas means letting each stop be different, rather than expecting one long mineral-shopping expedition.

Mundo a Passeio leaves Porto Alegre by sleeper coach on 27 to 29 November 2026, with three days and two nights. Start by asking which experiences interest you. The question of how many stones will fit in your bag can wait.

Look first; the shopping is optional

At Igreja Matriz São Gabriel, the amethyst cladding belongs to a religious setting, as documented by the state tourism listing. Notice texture and light while respecting the building’s use. Museums and mine-related spaces turn your attention towards specimens, displays and work.

Ametista Parque Museu, Museu do Bambu and Vinícola Ametista add variety. Try taking a different question into each visit. How is a material displayed? What changes when bamboo, rather than a mineral, becomes the subject? You do not need a purchase from every stop to demonstrate enthusiasm.

A useful detail from the Geological Survey of Brazil: a geode is a cavity lined with crystals, and the region’s amethyst deposits are associated with basalt. Compare the outside of a specimen with its interior. Instead of choosing only the deepest purple, you start noticing the relationship between the enclosing rock and the crystals.

Similar names, different tasting bills

The listed package covers one lunch at Belvedere Mina and a café colonial, plus tastings at Vinícola Ametista and Museu do Bambu. The Ametista Parque Museu tasting costs extra. Reading the venue names carefully is easier than reconstructing the details over a bill later.

The second day’s free-choice lunch and dinner, extra drinks and personal spending are additional too. Discuss dietary needs with Ana Carla and ask what the services actually provide. A tasting is not automatically a full meal, however promising its name sounds.

Keep the luggage useful

The advertised accommodation is Pousada & Container Mina Beer, for two nights with breakfast. Separate coach essentials from the main bag and carry only what you need on visits. This is a good outing for familiar, firm footwear; the new shoes do not need a starring role.

Ask about steps, walking and surfaces where support is needed. Agree on meeting points and follow the team’s timings. A three-day trip is more enjoyable when it does not acquire a bonus expedition to retrieve somebody’s jacket.

Yucumã comes with changing conditions

Sema describes Yucumã as longitudinal, following the river’s course. Look along the landscape rather than searching for a single curtain of falling water.

The waterfall is in Parque Estadual do Turvo, Derrubadas, beside the Uruguay River. River conditions determine visibility; the departure date does not guarantee a particular view. Check near departure, follow the guides and leave natural materials in the park.

The published price is BRL 1,682 per person sharing a double room, with listed transport, accompaniment and itinerary admissions. Use the Ametista and Derrubadas announcement to frame your questions about availability, current price, boarding and room sharing. Confirm any language support you need before booking.
